Bespoke joinery

We moved into our new London studio in May 2019, previously a site office for construction, the whole place needed completely renovating.

Within the ground floor we created three new spaces, a cloakroom and WC, a new studio kitchen, and our Made By Simpson Studio Workshop.

We created new access, installed a new concrete floor and put up new walls and internal glazing to divide the new spaces. Within the workshop and kitchen we made all of the joinery in house. We settled on a tongue and groove detail in the workshop which we painted pink (F&B Dead Salmon) complimenting the tones in the exposed red brick wall which we stripped back and cleaned. We paired this with black exposed steels, and English Oak for the workshop counters and bespoke cabinet handles.

In the kitchen we used walnut and Fior de Bosco marble. You can read more about the kitchen design here.

Upstairs is the studio, library and meeting room, where we installed a crittall screen to separate the meeting room space, while still allowing light to fill the whole floor. In the meeting room we made a bespoke meeting table from Scottish Elm and blackened steel.
