This renovation involved the complete refurbishment of a 4 storey semi-detached Victorian villa located within a pretty conservation area in London.

The project included a ground floor rear extension, new staircase from basement to second, upgrading of services and thermal performance, new glazing, full interiors throughout, and 8 pieces of bespoke furniture.

Our client was looking to create a calm, light-filled space, with a simple colour palette and lots of natural materials.

The house was reconfigured to create a large living kitchen dining room, with expensive views and connection out to the garden beyond.

The staircase was reconfigured to open up the hallway, with a new continuous handrail leading your eye all the way from the front door to the back garden beyond. The hall space was also adapted to allow for a hidden cloakroom to be tucked away within the centre of the plan form.

A formal study, yoga room, first floor terrace, and ample amounts of storage throughout the house were all integrated to create a well-balanced and functional family home.

Alongside the bespoke collection of eight pieces of MadeBy furniture, we designed and built a dining table and storage bench made from Dinesen timber boards.

It’s a material we used throughout the house, primarily for flooring on the ground floor, and for the new staircase.
