Studio Outlook.

We are a multidisciplinary design house creating better space through the integration of architecture, interiors, furniture production. Our mission is to remove the boundaries in design, creating a holistic and collaborative team who deliver the built environment and everything within it.

Our clients are at the centre of what we do. We endeavour to capture the essence of their vision and craft beautiful uncompromising environments, where nothing is an afterthought, and form and function are completely balanced.

  • We offer full architectural services at all stages of a project, through feasibility, planning, tender, and construction. We are a RIBA and RIAS Chartered Practice. We work in both residential and commercial sectors, notably in one-off residential projects, members clubs, boutique hotels, restaurants and luxury retail. We enjoy both refurbishment and new build projects, and have extensive experience with listed buildings and conservation areas.

  • We also offer full interior design services where we look to integrate all aspects of an interior with both architecture and bespoke furniture design to create beautiful and interesting environments, tailored to each individual client. We work with the best suppliers and manufacturers from around the world to source rich and unique materials, from Scottish leathers and English timbers to beautiful design classics, as well as unique pieces from new and emerging designers.

  • In our workshop we craft furniture enriched with a passion for design and focused on natural material qualities. We design considered pieces that will stand the test of time, and that can be handed down from generation to generation. Through a combination of both modern and traditional fabrication techniques, our team of highly skilled makers create unique pieces to add that final quality and detail to a Simpson Studio project.

Sustainability.

As architects and craftsmen we have the privilege of working with beautiful natural materials: selecting the right materials and understanding their qualities and limits is key to what we do. We use materials and textures to create considered design that is built to last.

Sustainability in architecture has been on the agenda for a long time, and this used to be approached as an extra service that was considered by the climate conscious, but this has changed, and we work to ensure that sustainability is delivered as standard throughout our work.

We are conscious of waste, and craft our raw materials in a responsible and sustainable way. We use the off cuts from projects and bespoke pieces to produce small objects in our workshop, so that nothing is wasted.

We strive to source our raw materials here in the UK, working with a wonderful array of British suppliers and manufacturers.

Our Services.

We deliver every aspect of your project for you. We provide services at all stages, working with you to manage the whole process.

As a studio we endeavour to remain flexible in outlook and to tailor our response to each individual client’s needs and objectives. We do not have a house style: we approach a site or intervention on its own merits. We are rigorous and enquiring. We are hungry to innovate, to use the latest technologies, while also enjoying and celebrating traditional techniques and craft.

Our team.
