The complete renovation and interior design of a new space for Found at Redbrick, an in-store-only lifestyle boutique in Batley, West Yorkshire.

As the boutique is situated in a traditional 1860’s mill, we devised a design scheme to complement the original red brick structure, steel supports and timber beams that were exposed upon stripping out the previous unit.

Our palette of natural materials with warm, rich tones is inherently welcoming - countering the cold aesthetic trend of many modern retail spaces - and supports Found in encouraging customers to take their time and enjoy browsing leisurely.

Alongside a bespoke point of sale constructed from salvaged marble and oak, we designed and built a series of display cabinets, each finished with a divergent mix of timber top surfaces - douglas fir, ash, walnut and lime.

While the result is visually striking, it also offers a practical solution to a problem highlighted during the conceptual design stage: tableware and pottery can look and feel completely different when viewed on different surfaces - whether light, dark, textured or plain. Offering options helps to reflect a wider range of home environments.

Douglas fir, ash, walnut and lime boards, cut and finished in our London workshop, form the top surface of each bespoke cabinet.

Alongside the timber and steel materials specified, a number of salvaged items were used, including this stoneware sink.
